NAATE teachers recognized by School CommitteeLawrence Public Schools celebrated the graduation of six exemplary educators recommended to the National Academy of Advanced Teacher Education (NAATE). These educators completed 23 days of a residential program alongside other urban educators from across the country, most of which occurred at Yale University in July 2015 and July 2016. These NAATE fellows will support peers and administrators at their schools to inform improved instructional practice and enhanced teamwork. Congratulations to our outstanding NAATE fellows!

The Lawrence Senior Center accepted our invitation to join the planning committee of our first ever Lawrence Learns Block Party earlier this year. This event would not have been possible without the effort and talent of our community partners. Two senior staff from the Senior Center presented a very special quilt-art project during the recent School Committee meeting. This quilt started as a fun activity for our incoming Preschool and Kindergarten students and became a great intergenerational art project to be displayed in schools across our district.
