Mr. Rodriguez has been working in the district since 2005 at both the Middle School and High School Level. He attended UMASS/Amherst and Salem State with concentrations in History and Teaching English as a Second Langauge.
Ms. Gilligan has worked for Lawrence Public Schools since 2004 and has been at the high school since 2006 as a Guidance Counselor. She has a bachelors' and Masters' degree from Assumption College and is certified as both a Guidance Counselor and School Social Worker/Adjustment Counselor.
Ms. Colarruso has worked in Lawrence since 2011 first at HLD as an Intensive Case Manager, Dean of Students and Guidance Counselor. She has also helped coach girls soccer for 3 years.
Ms. Say is the GEAR UP Advisor for HLD/PFA. This is her second year working at Lawrence High School in this position. She has her Bachelor’s in Psychology from UMass Lowell and my Master’s in School Guidance Counseling from Rivier University. She enjoys cooking and eating food from different cultures, in addition to spending time with her family.
Ms. de Leon graduated from Lawrence High School and has worked as a school counselor for the past 20 years. She received her bachelors’ degree in psychology from Salem State University and her masters in social work from Boston University. In addition, she completed an Advanced Professional Certificate in Expressive Therapy Studies from Lesley University and an Advanced Degree in Spanish Language and Civilization from Universidad de Alcala de Henares in Spain. Ms. de Leon’s personal passion is traveling and she has visited 83 countries so far.
Mr. Garcia started working at LHS in 2004-2005. He is a proud LHS graduate, class of 1999. He was granted a Sociology degree from UMASS Amherst and has a Masters in Guidance Counseling from Cambridge College.
Ms. Ruiz was born and raised in Lawrence. She has been working for LHS for the past 5 years. She believes in giving back to her community.
Performing and Fine Arts
Ms. McGhee teaches Gospel Choir, Piano, and Girls' Ensemble. She has been teaching at Lawrence High School since 1998, and is a graduate of Berklee College of Music and New England Conservatory. She sings professionally with Boston based choirs, and with two Jazz Bands, the Back Bay Ramblers and the Dave Whitney Orchestra.
Mr. Evangelista is the director of the Lawrence High School Campus Theater Department. Mr. Evangelista manages the Performing Arts Center and is the Artistic Director for the newly merged Lawrence High School Theatre Company.
Mr. Allshouse graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in sculpture from UMASS Amherst in 1996. He then continued making and selling his art for 10 years while travelling around the USA. Finally he moved to Lawrence in 2004, and began teaching art at the Essex Art Center for several years then eventually got a job teaching visual arts at Lawrence High School beginning in 2006. For roughly four years he also ran a summer mural arts program in the city, painting about 15 large murals with students.
Maria (Quity) Morgan
Mr. Ronan is a retired Sergeant Major with 30 years’ service with the Massachusetts Army National Guard. He is currently an Army instructor in JROTC and began his tenure at LHS Jan 2011. He has his bachelor’s degree from Nichols College and an MBA from Trident University.

Ms. Romano was born in Methuen and joined the U.S Army at 17. She graduated from University of Hawaii with a degree in Computer Information Systems and a Masters in Leadership. After 25 years of serving in the Army and attaining the rank of Major, she retired and moved to Asia for 3 years. Upon her return in 2007, she began working at LHS as the Senior Army instructor
Robert A. Kujawa,
Mr. Kujawa served 20 years, 8 days in United States Army, from 1973-1993. He has 20 years as a U.S. Army JROTC Instructor, with 17 years at Lawrence HS. He has his Bachelor Degree in Management, from National-Louis University, Evanston, IL June 1992. He also earned a Master's of Education Degree from Endicott College, Beverly, MA, May 2003.
Mr. Pabon teaches Physical Ed. and Health, as well as ESL during the summer. He coaches Cross country, winter track and Field and Spring Track and Field. He has been a member of the Lawrence Public Schools for over 14 years. He used to teach at the Arlington Middle before the high school and taught Applied Science.
Ms. Brown grew up in Arlington MA and has been at LHS for 7 years. She has a double master’s from Leslie University and holds licenses in special education as well as ESL
Ms. Caraballo celebrates her first year at LHS as an ESL teacher. Prior to LHS, she worked at the Arlington Middle school as an ELA/ESL teacher for 15 years. She is excited to be working at the high school and enjoys watching her past students grow into young adults and preparing themselves for the future.
Ms. Brady has taught at LHS since 2015; before that she taught at several high schools in Chicago and at the University of Illinois. She has a bachelor's degree from the University of Chicago, a master's degree from DePaul University, and PhD from the University of Illinois. She has also worked as a writer and directed a university-based outreach center for beginning teachers. She has three sons and enjoys camping and hiking in her free time.
Ms. Tournas was born in the Dominican Republic; she was educated by the Salesinas’ nun and became a Chemical Engineer at the Autonomous of Santo Domingo University (UASD). She came to this country in 1992 with her four children Mrs. Tournas began as a teacher at Lawrence High School in 1994 – 1995, for nine years she taught Chemistry, Anatomy and Physiology, Health and Foundation of Science in the bilingual program at LHS, since 2004, she teaches Spanish as Foreign Language and got her Master Degree in Education from Cambridge College in 2002.
Ms. Longo is in her 14th year at Lawrence High School, she teaches senior and sophomore level English and creative writing. She is the book club advisor and her hobbies include reading, writing, photography, art, and biking. She has a BS from Syracuse University in Journalism and Developmental Psych and is completing her master's as a Reading Specialist.
Ms. Lamontagneis a proud 2004 graduate of Lawrence High School and later of UMASS Lowell. She is a self-proclaimed Shakespeare nerd and loves teaching and learning from her diverse students.
Nichole M. Couture
Ms. Couture was born here in Massachusetts. 11th and 12th grade ELA teacher. Graduated from Fitchburg State College and is currently enrolled in a graduate program with the same university. She enjoys boating, music and the fine arts.
MS. Elmasian has been teaching ELA in Lawrence since 2003. Prior to teaching she practiced law. She received her bachelor's from the University of Rhode Island, her law degree from Roger William University School of Law, and her master's in education from Rivier University. This is the longest she has worked at any job, and she attributes that to her admiration and love for her students.
Mr. Kellerman teaches U.S. 2 and American Government. He graduated from Bridgewater State University in 2016 and Majored in History and Minored in Secondary Education and Social Studies.
Mr. Churchill teaches world history at the HLD/PFA academy. He has taught a Lawrence High since 2013. He received a B.A. from Elms College in Professional Studies, with concentration in business and education. He also is the senior class advisor for HLD and serves on the National Honor Society committee for the upper academies. He enjoys all outdoor activities…. especially basketball, and just being with his wife and two daughters.
Mr. Hayes dropped out of school at 16 and for the next 32 years he was a professional baker. Later on in life he attended Middlesex Community College, Oklaholma State, UMass Lowell and Salem State. Some of his favorite bands include The Who, The Beatles, The Kinks and Stevie Wonder.
Mr. Aboagye-Kodjoe is a mathematics teacher at PFA/HLD Upper school academy. He teaches Calculus Honors and Algebra 2 CP.
He holds a master's degree in mathematics education/curriculum & instruction from the University of Phoenix, Phoenix, AZ. He loves playing soccer, tennis, and Ping-Pong.
Mr. Pichardo was born in the Dominican Republic. He came to Lawrence at 15 years old. He graduated from Lawrence high school in 1997. He went to Merrimack college to get his BA with a major in mathematics and minor in secondary education. He got his masters at Cambridge college in 2010. He has been teaching at Lawrence High school since 2001.
Mr. Oliver grew up in Lowell, taught Sciences for 4 years with the Peace Corps in Kenya, East Africa. He worked 15 years as an engineer for MIT and then returned to teaching. He is currently in his 22nd year of teaching Biology and Chemistry. (ps. he loves to Blow stuff up!)
Mr. Pierangeli graduated from Becker College with a degree in Pre-veterinary medicine. After spending two years in the Caribbean, he now teaches Physics and Forensic Science. This is his first year teaching in Lawrence.
Ms. Ansley has been teaching in Lawrence since 2003. She received her Bachelor's degree in Biology from Framingham State University in 2002 and completed her Master's degree in Teaching English as a Second Language from Simmons College in 2009. She loves teaching all types of science and finding ways to make science interesting and relevant. When she’s not at school you can find her at the YMCA or enjoying the outdoors with her family.
Ms. Lobo started at LHS in 2012 and teaches both chemistry and biology. She is the Yearbook advisor as well as the junior class advisor. She is originally from India and moved to Massachusetts almost a decade ago and earned a master’s degree in Education from Boston College. She has since gone on to earn a CAGS in Educational Administration from American International College as well.
