Congratulations to PFA Senior, Kimberly Guevara! Her artwork "Attractional Universe" was selected to be part of the New England Regional Office of the College Board AP Studio Art Exhibition.
PFA Theatre Company is gearing up to bring you a spectacular show for their Spring Musical. The cast, including 2 Peters, is working hard to complete the sets and perfect their dance numbers. They are pulling out all the stops to prepare for their flying debut. This is a wonderful, classic children's tale that will be fun for the whole family.

Performances run the weekends of April 9-11 and 16-18. Showtimes are 7pm each night with a Saturday 2pm matinee.
$10 adult and $7 student tickets can be pre-ordered at pfatheatrecompany@gmail.com.

Students from Lawrence PFA and Peabody High School performed an outstanding Collaborative Youth Concert with the Handel & Haydn Society. This group is the oldest continuously performing arts organization in the country. Formed in 1815, they are " celebrating 200 years of making music and enriching lives by performing Baroque and Classical music at the highest levels of artistic excellence."

Kimberly Guevara had no idea that she would be taking home a photography prize only one year after taking her first digital photography class, but that is exactly what happened to this PFA Senior. She submitted her silhouetted river scene as a Youth Entry in the “This Land is Your Land” segment of the 2014 Essex National Heritage Area Photo Contest and received First Place.

Kimberly said she enjoys taking pictures because a photo is “ a memory you can hold and carry with you”. Her winning photo was a spur of the moment shot inspired by the Merrimack River at sunset. She hopes people will think about their roots and remember where they came from while looking at the photo.

Kimberly will take part in a ceremony and receive her award on January 28th and all winning photos will be on display at the National Park Visitor Center in Salem and Merrimack Valley Planning Commission in Haverhill for the next year.

Congratulations, Kimberly!

Please be aware, Lawrence Public Schools is preparing for weather emergencies. In an effort to safeguard our students and staff, LPS will be implementing two new weather-related policies:
  • 2-Hour Delayed Opening for Students
  • Early Dismissal for Students
If the Superintendent implements either of these policies, staff and students will be notified by:
local media outlets(TV and radio), Connect Ed message to your home, and the LPS website.
