WET Last Day of School

Friday, June 16, 2017

Buddy reading between 5th and Kindergartenstudents on these last days at the Wetherbee.

7th and 8th grade students are in NYC with their teachers exploring the city.  They enjoyed this dinner cruise among other famous sights like the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and NBC studios.

Wetherbee 7th and 8th graders have been learning basic TV Production skills to get ready to interview some of their teachers. They have been working with Mr. John McArdle and LPS Media in a 21st Century extended learning program.
Heather O'Donnell was nominated by her peers at the Wetherbee School for her outstanding work in the Academic Learning Center grades 5 and 6.  She was celebrated on Friday night at the Lawrence Rotary Club's Teacher of the Year Awards Night.
Wetherbee seventh grade students and Writing coach Ms. Baggett make care packages for the homeless.  They included snacks, toiletries, and even books! Earlier this year they also worked together with more staff and student's families to create fleece blankets.  They passed these blankets out to the homeless to help keep them warm during this very cold winter. To see more pictures of our seventh graders doing their part to help others in our community follow this link to our Wetherbee Picture gallery.
