Sixteen talented artists at the Wetherbee School are the first in Lawrence to become a part of the National Junior Art Honor Society today. Starting the ceremony we had a great presentation done by The Wetherbee Step Team, it was both impressive and fun to watch. During the induction students from the Society took a pledge and lit the three primary colored candles. Administrators, teachers parents and friends came to support and watch the proud moment. Find more pictures that document our special occasion here.
Third and Fourth Grade students at the Wetherbee are learning about UNICEF Kid Power and the issue of global malnutrition. By Getting active withtheir fit bands, they will go on missions to learn about new cultures and earn points. Points they earn will unlock funding from partners, parents and fans. These funds are used by UNICEF to deliver lifesaving packets to severly malnutritioned children around the world. They more the kids move, the more points they earn, and the more lives they will save! If you would like make a donation and help the children of the world visit the UNICEF donation page!
The Wetherbee School chanted their name proudly through the streets of Lawrence during the parade on Saturday. There were many students, teachers and parents proudly marching along side their parade float that won "Best Overall" trophy. Please follow this link to see more pics from the fun day.
