The Finance department processes all Budget, Procurement, Accounts Payable, Payroll and Grant operations for the Lawrence Public School (LPS) district. Our team is dedicated to excellence in customer service for our internal and external stakeholders with the goal in meeting the financial needs of the LPS community. The finance office is responsible for coordinating and conducting the operating funding, budgeting and programming activities for all LPS including state and federal multi-year projects. Our mission is to utilize the allotted financial resources for the success of our students and the LPS community. We will strive to provide the most reliable financial data that strengthens our LPS economy and outcome.
LPS annual budget is a declaration of the department’s priorities – a statement on how to allocate the financial resources that exist. There are several funding sources including operating budget and grant funding. The operating budget enables the day-to-day functioning of LPS by paying for recurring expenditures for programs and services, employee compensation, rents, utilities, supplies, insurance among other costs.
