Principal's Message
Dear Families,
I would like to welcome each of you to the start of a new school year. I am very excited to be starting my third year at the Tarbox School and my first year as the principal. I know if we work together as a community we can build positive relationships and children will have a successful academic year.
There has been a lot of preparation in order to get ready for the school year. Teachers have been busy setting up their classrooms and preparing to welcome all students back to school. Classroom libraries are being set up with many new and exciting books, bulletin boards are being decorated and new materials have arrived to support your child’s learning. Most importantly the staff is excited and ready to have all students in school and ready to learn. The staff is committed to making this year the very best year of all.
Two-way communication is very important. When your child’s teacher sends you a message to connect to Class Dojo please do so. This is a great way to communicate with your child’s teacher. It is also one of the platforms the nurse, counselor and I can send information to families.

The John K. Tarbox School is a small neighborhood school with just under 300 students in grades 1-5. Our small size affords us a family feel where all staff gets to know all students. Our focus this year is improving student performance in Reading/English Language Arts and Mathematics while continuing our work with Restorative Justice.
