Announcements

COVID-19 testing provides an important extra layer of protection against the spread of COVID-19, and LPS regularly updates it’s testing program based on current COVID data and public health guidance.

What kinds of testing are currently included in the LPS COVID-19 Testing Programs?

  1. Pooled testing every week, as currently scheduled by school (click here to sign up online for pooled testing; or print the English paper consent form / Spanish paper consent form)
  2. Symptomatic Testing, as needed (If you have not yet signed up, click here to sign up for symptomatic testing, or print the English paper consent form / Spanish paper consent form)

If you have additional questions regarding the program, please contact your school nurse. Thank you for helping keep our school community healthy and safe!

Overview: New At-Home Rapid Testing Program

  • About the Test: iHealth is a 15-minute at-home FDA-approved rapid antigen test.
  • Opt-In: To participate, you must opt in by completing the LPS opt in online form. By opting in, you will agree to review the training materials for test administration, report positive test results to your student’s school, and administer the tests according to LPS guidelines.
  • Weekly: Every two weeks your child will receive an iHealth at-home rapid test kit. Each kit contains two individual tests. Your child will administer one test each week according to the schedule shared by your school.
  • Reporting Positive Test Results: If your child tests positive on an at-home antigen test, you will inform their school of the positive result using the Positive Test Result Reporting Form. The school will keep the results confidential and will not make individual results public. In addition, it is strongly recommended that you inform your healthcare professional of the positive result.
  • Statewide program update: You can find more detailed information here about Massachusetts’ update to the statewide testing program.

How do students take the test?

How do I submit results?

  • Submit Results: Only positive test results must be submitted to your child’s school. You can do so with the Positive Test Result Reporting Form.
  • Confidentiality: Positive test results are shared with the district for informational purposes only. Individual results will remain confidential, and they will not be made public.

If you have additional questions regarding the program, please contact your school nurse. Thank you for helping keep our school community healthy and safe!

LPS parents and staff are cordially invited to participate in the Portrait of a Graduate Community Forum. Portrait of a Graduate was established in 2019 to paint a picture of the skills, knowledge and mindsets Lawrence students need to be successful in the 21st Century. It uses a community-driven approach to collect data about what students need, and where Lawrence Public Schools can implement change in the future. POG includes voices of the following stakeholders students, LPS staff, parents, alumni, and members of the higher education, non-profit, and business communities.

We are near the final stages and NEED PARENT AND STAFF INPUT.  These conversations will take place via Zoom on the following days:

  • Wednesday, December 1 at 6pm
  • Wednesday, December 8 at 6pm

Participants will receive a $20 Target Gift card. Please register for a focus group here and choose your group, date and language. The Zoom Link invitation will be sent to you after you register.

Thank you for helping shape the future of Lawrence graduates!
