group of parents at meeting

The Superintendent and the Family Engagement Team would like to express our most sincere gratitude to all of you for your attendance and participation during the September Presidents’ Council meeting Tue. The event was a great success! Students, parents, educators, and administrators came together to welcome our new superintendent and to highlight ongoing practices within the LPS. We also want to express our thanks to Dr. Toomey, who provided an update on Standards Based Grading and Reporting Grades K-8.

Shark Week was the theme at a recent Summer Celebration with the Special Education Department. Students from several schools shared what they had learned about sharks and many other topics as new staff visited the schools. Click here for some photos of the event.

LPS Staff at Convention

A group of dedicated LPS Teachers and Administrators are spending the week at the national convening of UnboundEd's Standards Institute. They are joining more than 1200 educators from across the country for an intensive and transformative learning experience designed to improve, develop, and sustain instructional excellence. Our team is studying how the standards, content and systems can improve the performance of struggling students.
