Close to 6,000 students have been learning important keyboarding and digital literacy skills during 2017-18 to help them improve speed, formatting, and use of word processing techniques.  They have been using the Keyboarding Without Tears (KWT) program for 10 minutes each day.  KWT is a web-based curriculum for Grades K–5 that teaches typing, general computer readiness, digital citizenship, and practice for taking tests online.  Students who complete the program will receive an achievement certificate in June.  Congratulations!

Jeff Riley and students after becoming Commissioner of Education

Lawrence High School students who helped create a video about the successes of Lawrence Public Schools attended an event at the State House today. The video was shown as one part of the event to celebrate how Massachusetts is "Leading the Nation" with progress in our schools since the adoption of the 1993 Education Reform Act. They also had the chance to congratulate Jeff Riley, our new Commisioner of Education, who was sworn in during the event. Congratulations!
