Dear Parents;

I hope that you and your children have enjoyed the summer.  The staff at the Robert Frost Middle School looks forward to another exciting and educational year and Assistant Principal Cassely and I are ready to continue our work alongside our middle school community -- students, parents and teachers.  Please see some important information below:

  • Mask wearing is mandatory of all LPS students and staff, regardless of vaccination status.  FRM will follow similar mask protocols to last school year with students being afforded mask breaks throughout the school day.
  • The first day of school is Wednesday, September 1.  This is an early release day- 11:30 DISMISSAL.   Class Lists (homeroom assignments) will be prepared for the first day.  They will not be posted in advance.  A regular school day for students is 7:40 AM -3:07 PM.  We encourage students be on time for school every day.
  • Breakfast is served daily from 7:10-7:30 AM.  Students should not report to school grounds before 7:10 AM.
  • Middle school students will be dismissed at 3:07 PM.  All students should be picked up by 3:10 PM.
  • Please contact our parent liaison, Diana FPerez, any time your child is absent from school for any reason.

The School Calendar link is located on the right side of the FRM homepage.  Please note there are Early Release Days (11:30 DISMISSAL) on September 1, November 24, December 23, and June 23.  School vacations are scheduled        December 24-January 2; February 21-25; and April 18-22.

If your child takes Private Transportation/Day Care Bus at dismissal, please notify the school immediately so that we are aware of transportation assignments on the first day.  Our office staff will take that information at 978-722-8810.  Any student who takes a bus will be put on the bus at the end of the day, unless the school has been notified in writing that you have made other arrangements for pick-up.  Your child will bring an emergency form home.  Please fill out the emergency form and return it as soon as possible.  It is important that we have your child’s information and any updated contact information on file.  Please provide accurate, current information.

Students must be in homeroom by 7:40 AM in order to be considered on timeInstruction begins at 8:00 AM.  Any time that your child will miss school due to illness, you must contact FRM at 978-722-8810.  For your convenience, please also record the direct line to the nurses’ offices at 978-722-8804.

In compliance with USDA Federal Regulations, the Lawrence School Committee complies with the School Wellness Policy which limits the types of food that can be served in our schools.  In accordance with this policy, all student birthday parties must be celebrated outside of school.  The Wellness Policy is available in the school’s main office. For their safety and the safety of others, students are never allowed to bring coffee or other hot beverages to school.  Students are allowed to bring bottled water to classes, however any other beverages (including juices) may only be consumed in the cafeteria during student lunches.

The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education has released the standardized testing (MCAS) calendar for 2021-‘22.  It is very important that families avoid planning vacations and/or appointments on school days during MCAS weeks:   April 1, 2022   through   May 27, 2022.

Please see the FRM webpage for the suggested supply lists for each grade level as well as the school’s uniform policy in cooperation with LPS.  Your child will receive a more detailed informational brochure as well as student handbook during the first week of school.  If you need a paper copy of any documents, please call the main office to arrange for pick-up.

Thank you for your commitment to the Frost Middle School and please do not hesitate to contact my office with any questions or concerns.  We look forward to seeing all of you on September 1!
