Kwame Alexander posing with his books and a teacher and student

Kwame Alexander, Newbery Medal recipient and author of the popular book The Crossover, as well as Surf’s Up and Acoustic Rooster, visited Frost Elementary School on Thursday, November 10, 2016. Mr. Alexander gave two presentations designed to inspire lower elementary and upper elementary writers, sharing his passion for creating stories that come to life when read. Students had the opportunity to interact with Mr. Alexander, acting out scenes from his book, Acoustic Rooster, and partaking in a trivia game show about The Crossover. His enthusiasm for engaging young minds and his passion for writing continue to echo within the classrooms, securing his visit as a truly memorable experience for students and teachers.
