Students at the photobooth

Yesterday the Hennessey School hosted a summer dance party. We had a great time!

This past March was National Development Disabilities Month and we are using this to Segway into our focus on celebrating our unique differences. Every classroom will be reading different books about the importance of kindness and about students with disabilities breaking barriers and overcoming stereotypes. Every week is focused on a different (dis) ABILITY and we are including events such as the visit from the Lawrence Police Department Autism Awareness Patrol Car and Therapy Dog Oliver, and movies such as Nemo and Wonder (which are both about physical disabilities) to support our readings in class.

It's spirit week at the Hennessey School! For career day. We were lucky to have our future firefighter meet and learn tips from our current firefighter.

children visiting the science museum
This past Friday grades K-2 went to the Science Museum. We had a great time learning about butterflies, the solar system, the human body, and electricity.

We hope parents continue to take advantage of the Lawrence Public Library for discounted museum passes.
