The High School Learning Center held a Town Hall Meeting on Thursday, March 31 to celebrate the success of our students and discuss the exciting events coming up in the spring.

Students received awards for good grades in their content areas as well as demonstrating accountability - one of our five CARES values.

In the morning, staff members cooked breakfast for the students as we get ready for the end of Term 3 and the final term of high school for our seniors.

The HLC Tigers defeated Somerville on Thursday, March 10 at UMass Lowell to win 3rd place in the annual GBBL (Greater Boston Basketball League) Tournament.
It is the second time that the Tigers have earned a 3rd place trophy. They have one league championship and one 2nd place finish in previous years.

Kenny Perez of the Tigers won the league's sportsmanship award demonstrating leadership, enthusiasm, and respect throughout the season.
Congratulations to the Tigers and head coach Chris Brown for another successful season.

HLC Family Night Photo

The High School Learning Center held its Family Night on Thursday, October 28.

Each content area team did an interactive presentation to show families what is happening here in our classrooms.

We held our monthly Town Hall meeting and gave students awards in each content area. We also debuted our Teacher of the Month award!

Students, families, and staff enjoyed a delicious, catered buffet of Dominican classics. There were also raffle prizes awarded to students and families who were able to attend the event.

We want to thank everyone who was able to participate in this event. We had a wonderful turnout and are so proud of our students and their families.

HLC Cells

The High School Learning Center has begun its 2021-22 school year!

After spending many years in North Lawrence, the HLC is now on the main campus of Lawrence High School, located on Floors 3 and 4 of the "D" Building.

Students are creating cell models in Mrs. Camarda's science class and earning valuable credits towards graduation.

Let's Talk About College poster

The High School Learning Center held its first ever "Let's Talk About College" event in coordination with Northern Essex Community College on Wednesday, March 10 during the school day.

Students and families had the opportunity to talk about the benefits of a college degree, the application process, and financial aid.

Current and former NECC students spoke on a panel and answered questions about the college experience. We were very proud to have a former HLC graduate on the panel.

A second event was held in the evening exclusively in Spanish.

The HLC will also partner with NECC on March 11 for an Application Day event. Students will be able to apply to NECC with assistance on Zoom.

Thank you to all HLC and NECC staff members who made these events possible!
