Payroll Information

As some of you may know, Lawrence Public Schools is in the process of transitioning its decades-old financial system to the new MUNIS software system.  As of the April 7th payroll, we will launch the MUNIS Payroll system, which will impact all LPS employees. Please note that we anticipate there will be no changes to your payment or how or when or where it is deposited.  However, we wanted to provide you with a few important updates below.
 
For employees who receive a live check each pay period, you may notice a few new pieces of information on your check, including additional detail about pay rates and hours worked, as well as your withholding status.
 
For employees who receive their paycheck through directdeposit, you will now receive an email providing your paycheck “advice” two days prior to the day your check is deposited.  This will enable you to see the payment you will be receiving and to contact payroll before the pay day if you notice any issues.  The advice will be sent to your LPS email account; however you may “unsubscribe” or request that this advice be sent to a different email account by contacting the payroll department. 
 
This email is highly secure and password encrypted for your protection.  When you open the email to access the advice sheet, you will be prompted to enter a password.  Your password is the last four digits of your social security number.  Now is the time to verify that you know how to access your LPS email and the last four digits of your social security number.  Please note that the hard copy pay stubs you have received will no longer be delivered as of the May 5th payroll. 
 
Additional features of the MUNIS Payroll system will be rolled out in the coming months, including a user-friendly online portal that will enable you to look up important information on your computer or phone without having to call central office.  With these changes, we continue to encourage all employees to utilize direct deposit, which will also enable them to receive the email advice described above.  If you would like to switch to direct deposit, please fill out the direct deposit form found here and submit this to Payroll Department with a voided check.
