Meet the SES Administration
Erik Desmond (Principal): A licensed Special Education teacher, Mr. Desmond has over 15 years’ experience in the field of education. As a teacher, Erik has over 9 years of experience teaching Math and History at the high school level. Throughout his years of teaching, he also coached football and wrestling at the high school and collegiate level. During the 2015-16 school year, Mr. Desmond transitioned into the role of Dean of Students at the SES. While serving as Dean, he was an instrumental part of a team that reformed the academic and therapeutic services that the school offered to their students. During this time, he also worked closely with the administration team, staff, students, and community members to help create and maintain a positive school climate. Mr. Desmond transitioned to the Assistant Principal role at SES in the 2021-2022 school year. In this position, he served as the head of student services, which includes addressing student concerns, guiding enrichment opportunities, and assisting staff in guiding students toward academic achievement.
Angely Alba-Burgos (Assistant Principal): Ms. Alba-Burgos joined SES during the 2014-2015 academic year. Throughout her time at SES, she has served as a crisis aide, teacher, specialist, and facilitator. She has an extensive knowledge of curriculum and the Massachusetts State Standards, and received intensive training for unpacking the standards in order to meet each of her students' individual needs. In her new role, Ms. Alba-Burgos will mentor all educational staff. She will assist teachers with the development of different UDL strategies that allow all students access to the curriculum. Ms. Alba-Burgos is also bilingual in English and Spanish.
Ms. Alba-Burgos has earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Lasell College and her Master’s Degree in Education from Cambridge College.
