South Lawrence East Elementary Events

Student and teacher showing Autism Awareness bracelet

The South Lawrence East Elementary School celebrated "Autism Awareness Week." Led by students in Ms. Vasquez's class, the school community learned all about autism by her students reading to other classes and by making bookmarks and bracelets. Ms. Miller led a yoga class for parents and students in which she showed techniques for relaxation. Guest readers and speakers came to Ms. Vasquez's class to share their knowledge on everything from nutrition to zebras.

Students in their Spirit Week Garb

Smiles and giggles filled the halls the week of February 12th as the South Lawrence Elementary School celebrated Spirit Week. Students and staff dressed in their favorite sports attire, their class colors, as super heroes, and in their most mismatched outfits with crazy hair. Even with all the silliness, learning filled the classrooms.
