Students happy to receive new books

For the past five years, the Bancroft Elementary School in Andover has donated books for the South Lawrence East Elementary School's free bookstore at our Literacy Nights. On Wednesday, April 12th, third grade EL after school program hosted the Bancroft School's third grade Brownie troop to build bunnies and enjoy Girl Scout Cookies. In addition, students from the Lawrence High School National Honor Society assisted in the activity. We thank the students from the Bancroft School for their generosity towards our SLEES community.

Pen Pals group in classroom

Second graders at South Lawrence East Elementary enjoy the time they spent each week with their Phillips Academy Pen Pals. The group visits the 2nd grade and does fun workshops to improve writing skills. Their work will get published for the class to enjoy. Thank you, Lou Bernieri and our Phillips Academy friends!
