South Lawrence East Elementary Events

Superintendent works with a student

Our new Superintendent Cynthia Paris is following a full schedule as she makes time to visit each of the schools in Lawrence. At the South Lawrence East, she took a moment to practice "sprints" counting with this first grader.

Two students showing their awards and certificates

On Tuesday, June 19th, fifth graders at the South Lawrence East Elementary School experienced their Final Assembly. Students were recognized for outstanding achievement, citizenship, and perseverance. One student was even recognized for perfect attendance since first grade. Students and parents were introduced to their new principal at SPARK Academy. Good luck fifth graders at your new schools. Congratulations on a job well done.

Three female students in fields

On Wednesday, June 13th, the South Lawrence East Elementary School celebrated Field Day. Students enjoyed their day playing games in the fields.

Students standing on North Bridge

Fourth grade students completed a unit of study on the Revolutionary War this school year. They learned that there are two sides to every story as they studied the events that led to the Revolutionary War. On Monday June 4th and Wednesday June 6th, students visited Minute Man National Historical Park (U.S. National Park Service) to visit the North Bridge and learn more about the "Road to Revolution".
